Trivia[]
- This episode aired as a two-part special on the Cartoon Network App/Online.
- This episode officially confirms that the events of the Pilot are non-canon to the TV series due to the fact that it reveals that Victor and Valentino never met Mic and Hun before this episode and that they never visited (or believed in) the Realm of the Dead, despite doing so in the Pilot.
- Therefore, it is currently unknown how Victor and Valentino came to befriend Achi in the TV series.
- The Realm of the Dead makes its first official appearance in the TV series and is shown to be vastly different in comparison to the Pilot, being more like a modern city than an Aztec Temple.
- This episode reveals that Valentino is older than victor.
- This episode aired after Craig of the Creek (a series also aired in Cartoon Network) released a double-length special, "The Other Side".
- A flyer saying "Calavera" is seen in the Underworld Arena Ticket Salesman's ticket booth. This could be referencing Victor's last name or his uncle with the same last name, but the picture is not the same as El Toro's costume.
- The scene where skulls were in Mic and Hun's mouth briefly resembled Sans and Papyrus from the game Undertale, Manuel "Manny" Calavera from the game Grim Fandango, Manolo Sánchez from the movie The Book of Life, A Real Magic Skeleton (a.k.a RMS) from the TV show OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes, and Pixar's Coco.
