Victor and Valentino is an 8 1/2 minute pilot episode that was released online on October 29, 2016 and on Cartoon Network's YouTube channel on November 1, 2016.
Synopsis[]
Victor and Valentino must learn to work together to survive an underworld labyrinth.
Plot[]
Valentino and Victor are at their taco stand, and Valentino shows the latter how to make "the perfect taco". Victor is unimpressed and frustrated by the fact he's stuck selling tacos when he feels the two should be exploring Monte Macabre.
The two then get into a food fight when Grandma Chata walks in on them, and tells them to clean up. The brothers begin quarrelling again when Achi comes and eats some spilled tacos. Victor begins chasing after Achi and Valentino tries to stop him. The two then get sucked into the underworld.
In the Underworld, the boys are greeted by a giant maze and two skeleton brothers. Achi reveals the brothers had followed them into the underworld, and says that they can get out if they get out of the maze, they can go home. However, if they don't escape by death o'clock, they will die.
Victor is excited and jumps into the maze, while Valentino follows behind them. Later, the two run into a Chupacabra Item Shop, where the Chupacabra offers multiple helpful items, but Victor decides on wearing a luchador mask, frustrating Valentino.
The two then run into various traps and deities as Valentino tries to solve the maze cautiously, but Victor keeps impulsively making decisions. Eventually, Victor makes a mistake that leads the duo back at the beginning of the maze. The boys begin to argue, when death o'clock hits, and Mic & Hun begin killing Valentino.
Victor tries to save his brother, and ends up feeding the skeleton gods Valentino's tacos, making the latter put him down. The two reveal they love tacos, and the brothers compromise they will make tacos for MIc & Hun. The latter sends the boys home, where Victor apologizes for his brash behavior.
He then puts on his luchador mask, and to his shock, he sees ghosts all around the town. The two boys then put on the mask while looking at Chata, revealing she is actually a deity. Grandma Chata tells the boys it's time for them "to learn the truth about Monte Macabre", exciting both.

Trivia[]
- This premiered two days before the Hispanic holiday, Day of the Dead, which relates to the series and pilot in a big way, and even makes a reference in the episode.
- The episode did however premiere on YouTube on the local Day of the Dead.
- Valentino and Chata both have different voice actors then they do in the series.
- Monte Macabre looks much different than it does in the series, including more hills, and some buildings being changed (like Chata's house, where it or the surrounding buildings are different than in the series).
- Victor saying "Infinity Tacos", he might have been referencing the pilot for Infinity Train which premiered two days later on the Day of the Dead.
