Tezcatlipoca (also known as Tez) is the main antagonist of the Cartoon Network supernatural series Victor and Valentino.
History[]
He is voiced by Christian Lanz.
He is Maria Teresa's husband, and grandfather to Charlene and Pineapple. He is a world renowned magician who, prior to his debut on the show, had been traveling the world performing his act.
While at first glance he appears to be a normal magician, it is later proven that he has real, and very powerful magical abilities.
He also claims that he has "big plans" for Monte Macabre.
Physical Appearance[]
Tez is a tall, heavyset man. He has tan skin and black hair, as well as a sharp, black moustache and beard. Across his eyes he has a yellow stripe.
He wears a black jacket with blue designs depicting a jaguar across the back, a similarly colored top hat adorned with a small obsidian mirror and a design that resembles blue flames. He had a red shirt with a yellow collar and belt, and white gloves. He also carries a black cane that is topped by a jaguar head with purple gemstones for eyes, which light up when he uses his magic.
His right foot is missing, and is replaced by red and yellow, cylindrical prosthetic "peg leg"(as Victor calls it), which has what appears to be obsidian mirrors on either side. His foot also makes a metallic noise when he walks.
Personality[]
Tez is a performer, an entertainer who enjoys dazzling his audiences with spectacular feats of magic and showmanship.
He is charming, smooth talking, and easily earns the adoration and awe of most everyone, including Victor, while Valentino rightly remained skeptical of him.
He is also something of a conman. He is seen using his magic to steal Don's watch while distracting him with a magic trick.
Chata is also very distrustful of him, and tells the boys to "Never trust what Tez says", implying she was very aware of his deceitful nature.
He is somewhat cocky of his magical abilities and likes to show off, boasting that he is more powerful than anyone can comprehend, which, while most likely warranted as he is proven to be very powerful, was something that was able to be exploited against him as he is easily swayed into bragging about himself. As an example, he was easily distracted from attacking Valentino simply by Val telling him how cool his magic was and asking how he did some of his tricks, prompting Tez to show off his skills, unintentionally playing into the plan to distract him.

Trivia[]
- Though it has yet to be specifically stated in the show, Tez is based on the aztec deity Tezcatlipoca, as evidenced by many references in the show, as well as seen in some concept art seen in a behind the scenes video.
- Tez might also be a reference to Dr. Facilier from the 2009 Disney film The Princess and the Frog. His song Tez Says is a possible reference to "Friends on the Other Side" and his defeat in the episode is a reference to Dr. Facilier's demise in the film.
- He is missing a foot, which he claims was bitten off by a huge crocodile named Guapo, but later revealed that it was taken by a giant winged serpent.
- The Obsidian Mirror that Charlene owns actually belongs to Tez, and though she claims in Dead Ringer that she isn't supposed to touch it, she later says in La Cucarachita, that Tez taught her how to use it's magic.
- The mirrors Tez used in Tez Sez portray the reflections of those near them with starry eyes, similar to the eye effects used on people who are possessed by the Tzitzimime.
