Mrs. Jalapeño was Don Jalapeño's late wife and Xochi's late mother who is briefly mentioned in Xochi's Garden. Victor asks about her and Xochi mentions her passing when she (Xochi) was very young. Though she presumably had the power to control and summon plants, as Xochi has these powers, and as far as anyone is concerned, Don does not.
