- Itzel may be a reference to "Ixchel/Ix Chel" (which is also often spelled "Itzel"), a Mayan goddess known for her ties to childhood and small groups.
- Ixchel has also been depicted as a warrior figure, Itzel's attire and daring attitude also be a reference.
- Valentino implies that the Hidden Skatepark is located farther south of Monte Macabre. This would likely place the area somewhere closer to ancient Mayan territory.
